Dr. Brueckner’s Story

Growing up in northwest Arkansas, I always had a strong love for animals. I attended Kansas State University Veterinary School in order to gain skills working on a variety of animals. My working experience ranges from clinics to wildlife and I even spent time working in zoos. My husband and I moved to Maine in 2023 and could not be happier with this decision. After years of working as a general veterinarian in the clinical setting, I have decided the field needs a change. At home veterinary visits seem like the perfect way for me to bring about that change. My goal is to provide wellness examinations and medical care to a variety of animals in the comfort of their own home, decreasing unnecessary stress to the patients.

Yin-Yang was my special boy, my sidekick, my nap buddy for ten years. He was with me through veterinary school and kept me going on the hard days of practice. In 2023, he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma requiring an amputation of his forelimb. This did not slow him down! Instead, his last year of life was spent running on the beach and playing in Maine’s snow. I named my practice after him, because the love I felt for him is mirrored in the care I provide all my patients.

In my free time, I play with my pets, explore the local beaches, enjoy playing board games with friends, and read fiction and fantasy novels.

I look forward to offering pets from Kittery to Norway quality veterinary medicine!
